How to do a facial cleansing routine

A daily skincare routine is essential to healthy skin. You should always choose skincare products for your skin type, if not, you can develop dryness and even acne. Once you have the right products you will need to establish a facial cleansing routine. Luckily, we’ve got one here for you.

For dry skin, milk is ideal, nourishing cleansers and creams. If your skin is normal, you can use both cleansing milks and tonics, gels, nourishing creams and serums. For oily skin, gels, astringent tonics and creams are ideal fluids and serums, especially since they are free of oils so they won’t clog the pores and produce imperfections.

A daily facial cleansing routine should be done twice a day, in three steps and in this order: Cleansing, toning and hydrating.

You will need:

  • Makeup remover, if you wear makeup.
  • Facial cleanser for your skin type.
  • Astringent toner, specific for your skin type.
  • Moisturizing cream, specific for your skin type.
  • Cottons or gauze to apply the toner.

Steps to follow:

1. The first step is to cleanse your face, if it is in the morning a mild facial cleanser will do the trick.
If it is at night and you were wearing make-up, you must first remove it with a make-up remover, they exist in cream, milk or water-based.
2. The second step is to apply with a cotton or gauze an astringent tonic that will help you close the pores to prevent dirt from entering. There are astringent tonics for each skin type, choose the one that best suits yours.
3. And finally, moisturize as all skin types need hydration. If your skin is oily, look for a moisturizing cream in gel texture that is free of fat and if possible with few silicones so it will not clog your pores. If your skin is dry, a slightly more nourishing moisturizer will be ideal and for normal skin something in between.
